Nicola Rivers

Nicola is Co-CEO of Environmental Justice Australia, a not-for-profit law practice, and has over two decades experience as an environmental lawyer.

She previously led Environmental Justice Australia’s clean air work, supporting local communities around Australia to use the law to protect their right to clean air. She has also led numerous reform processes at federal and state level to secure improved climate, water and nature laws.

Previously she worked as a lawyer in federal and state governments advising on water, climate, nature and marine issues under international and Australian law. She also co-founded and runs Rock & Ranges Brewing, a non-profit community owned brewery in regional Victoria.

Nicola is a Fellow of the Centre for Sustainability Leadership and holds Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Arts, and a Masters in Environmental Management.
